Liverpool transfer news: Reds target Daichi Kamada set to snub Borussia Dortmund

Eintracht Frankfurt playmaker and Liverpool target Daichi Kamada could be set to snub a move to Borussia Dortmund, as he dreams of playing abroad. That's according to BILD, who suggest the 26-year-old would prefer a transfer outside of the Bundesliga, when he becomes a free agent in the summer. Reports had previously claimed the Japan international was close to joining BVB at the end of the season. However, BILD insist this isn't the case, as they believe the attacking midfielder 'doesn't really want' to go to Dortmund. Instead, they say he 'dreams of abroad', as he would prefer to leave Germany if he was given the choice. This would be a big boost to Liverpool, as Sport1 chief reporter Patrick Berger has suggested the Reds are keen on landing the player in the summer. With the Reds looking to undergo a rebuild of their midfield this summer, Kamada could be a brilliant acquisition on a free transfer. In 32 matches this term, the attacking midfielder has bagged 13 goals and five assists. This has predominantly come from playing centrally, with the odd occasion playing further up the pitch or even out on the left. As per Transfermarkt, the Japanese star is worth around £26.6m, so his availability on a free means a transfer would be very good business to make. Liverpool will be looking to spend the vast majority of their budget on a couple of big-money players this summer, so they would be silly to ignore this type of bargain as well. This is especially the case here, as Kamada has been hailed as an 'exceptional' player by BT Sport pundit Lucy Ward.
